Stephen Jacobs is passionate about the movies, especially classic ones. He writes mainly, but not exclusively, about Classic Horror. Not surprisingly, the work of Boris Karloff is of particular interest to him. It was this interest the prompted Stephen to write his award winning insight into the life and times of the movie legend.

Boris Karloff's daughter, Sara Jane, was so impressed with Stephen's efforts, that she gave his book her official backing and praise saying, "This is the DEFINITIVE biography of my father! I am absolutely delighted to authorize and recommend and praise etc. etc. etc. this book!"

Although Boris Karloff: More Than a Monster was Stephen’s first book it was not his first published works concerning the horror star. His articles "More Than the Sum of Its Parts": The Writing of Frankenstein (1931) and “The World is Yours”: The Writing of the Original Scarface have been published by Creative Screenwriting. His pieces on Karloff ’s early theatrical days – Boris Karloff in Alberta and Karloff in Saskatchewan – have featured in the Canadian magazines Alberta History and Saskatchewan History respectively. More about Stephen's works can be found on this website.
